Our leads measure approximately 100 cm long and 2.5 cm wide

What goes into our fabric leads?

To begin with, let’s look at the fabric that we use.  We use upholstery fabric, woven in a family run mill in Yorkshire.  Therefore the fabric in your lead will have gone through the same testing as a sofa (have you ever seen those adverts with a robotic bottom sitting up and down on a sofa 10,000 times?  Now that’s what we’re talking about.).  This fabric is tough, and it needs to be because dogs are hard on their collars and leads.  If we used a thin cotton it would very quickly rip after a bit of canine scratching and rolling.  But not our vegan fabric leads and collars – they are strong and sturdy.

Next let’s look at the structure of the dog lead.  There are 4 layers to each of our vegan fabric leads because we wrap the fabric around a cotton webbing core 3 times.  The webbing core is the fourth layer and is there to add hidden core strength.  And what’s more, our vegan fabric dog leads are 100% machine washable.

Finally the construction of the lead.  Our Blue Gingham Dog Leads are riveted together for maximum strength.  Additionally, the trigger hooks that we use have been thoroughly tested over our 21 years of making collars and leads.

This dog lead is also 100% vegan – there are no hidden animal products of leather finishes anywhere.  I know this because I designed it alongside a belt to be used by my brother Seb – a staunch vegan.
