Ooooooh do I love Christmas.  The moment the calendar flicks though to December 1st I’m out there, like Clark W Griswald, Christmas Tree Hunting.  Michael Buble is on repeat, crooning Christmas songs to us through the stereo and fairy lights twinkle from every possible place that they can be hung.

I grew up on the North Sea, in a little village called Walberswick on the East Suffolk coast.  My mum spent her early years in Germany, and for her Christmas Eve is the big day.  So December was filled with my pleas to her of “pleeeeease can we go and get a tree today”.  But no.  It had to wait until Christmas Eve, when we would choose our tree and decorate it beautifully.  My mum is one of the most irritatingly stylish and outrageously creative people I know.  Everything she does is beautiful. But the frustration of waiting ALL of December for that tree?  COME ON!  The moment I lived on my own I created my new tradition – December 1st means CHRISTMAS IS GO GO GO!

My brother Sebastian creates glorious herbal teas. Every year his company, Pukka, put together an absolutely beautiful herbal tea advent calendar.  He sends one to my daughters each December and we brew our new cup of tea each morning before school.  We know most of his teas already, but every now and then we try something unexpected, delicious and new.  It is always such a lovely surprise.

I look at my brother’s advent calendars and wish I could do something similar.  But dog beds and bandanas are not as adaptable to an advent calendar as tea bags are.  So we’ve been getting creative and have made our very own 12 Days of Christmas, which will lead you up to our final order dates for delivery in time for Christmas.

Every day from December 1st to December 12th, we will count down our 12 Days of Christmas.  Each day we will highlight one of our Christmas Gifts for Dogs or Cats, and tell you all about them.
